African American Sites of Memory

Welcome to the African American Sites of Memory Web Portal

The Information Technology and Society and Research Group (ITSRG), is partnering with Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection and nationally prominent scholars from Spelman College, the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University to create  an online, interactive, multimedia virtual reality of African-American historical markers located throughout Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The virtual reality of the historical markers will be created by the program and made available for exploration through Second Life and this Web portal.
